Tia Minnrie Barbour-Hale was born on February 3, 1984 in Nashville, TN to Ontonio (Tony) Barbour and Patricia (Pat) Williams. Tia departed this earth and transitioned home to Heaven Monday, May 18, 2020 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Tia was educated in both public and private school systems in Davidson County, TN. She received her B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy at Tennessee State University. As a teen, Tia made her profession and accepted Christ as her Savior at Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and was presently united with the Infinity Fellowship under the leadership of Reverend Jeff Obafemi Carr .
Tia was united in marriage to Courtney Maurice Hale, and to their union, Ever Grey Hale was born.
In 2005, Tia was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, The Alpha Chi Chapter at Tennessee State University and was currently an active member in the Nashville Alumnae Chapter.
Tia is preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen Williams, Clarence Jr. and Minnie Barbour.
Tia leaves to celebrate her life and to cherish her memory a very loving and devoted husband, Courtney Maurice Hale; daughter, Ever Grey Hale; a loving and devoted mother, Pat Williams; a loving and devoted father, Tony Barbour; grandparents, Frederick Williams Sr. (Barbara); aunts and uncles, Frederick Jr. (Sheila), Donnie (Linda) and Morris Wayne(LaQuita) Williams of Nashville, TN and Victoria Maxwell (Thomas), Michael Barbour (Angela) and Vanessa Barbour, Ph.D of Nashville, TN.
Devoted relatives, Tevin Williams Jr. (Woodhi) Billie Jean (BJ) Williams, Doniethia Williams and Kathy Steele (DD); mother-in-law, Bobbie Odom (Herbert), sister-in law, Kristina Hale; brother-in-law, Christopher Hale; grandmothers-in-law, Artis Drake and Gretchen Hale of St. Louis, MO; niece, Kiley Meeks-Hale, and numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Friends who were affectionately known as “framily”, Tyron Sanders, Phillip Henry, Michael Mahone and Charles (Cheese) Burton; life-long friends, Erica (Morgan) West, Maria (Estes) Hall, Erica (Chisom) Rhodes, Lauren (Ahiatsi) Moss and “transformational friendships, Krystal Bonner, Josef & April Robinson, Safiyyah Ruqayyah Nabaa, Atika (Williams) Moss and Nia House Montessori School Community.

The Tia Barbour-Hale Legacy Parade will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from ten o’ clock in the morning until one on the grounds of Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 5891 Nolensville Pike. Guests are asked to remain in their vehicles to adhere to social distance guidelines and simply follow the directions of the funeral staff. After viewing the drive-thru exhibit of Tia’s life, guests are asked to proceed to the exit.
