Julio Cesar Veliz was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, on June 11, 1962. In 1981, he grew up in Los Angeles, California, where he received Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. He later resided in Nashville, Tennessee, and stayed there for 26 years. Julio worked as a welder and mechanic and had a passion for soccer, movies, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. In recent years, he enjoyed spending free time with grandchildren, having theological discussions with his sons and friends, and traveling with his wife and daughters.
He passed on July 18, 2020, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 58, surrounded by his loving children and wife.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Feliciano Lopez and Refugio Barillas Lopez, and his parents, Marta Lopez and Victor Manuel Veliz.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Domitila Veliz, married for 35 years since 1984; children, Heidi, Jose Luis, Harrison, Leslie, and Daniel Veliz; grandchildren, Sarah, Shaughn, Alejandro, Angel, Melanie, Diego, and Marta Valeria; siblings, Carlos, Lucrecia, Betty, Somara, Victor, and Josue; and daughters-in- law, Rebekah, Mery, and Jamelia.
Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at The Chapel, 2415 Atrium Way, Nashville, TN 37214. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
