Ruth Evelyn Anderson

Ruth Evelyn Hart, age 96, passed away on June 24, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ruth was born on March 17, 1930, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to Emil and Jennifer Anderson. She was raised in Wareham, Massachusetts, and was the youngest of six children.

Ruth shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Leonard Dennison Hart. Together they raised their family in Billerica, Massachusetts. Her children lovingly remember her: Dwight Hart of Nashville, Tennessee; Tom Hart and his wife, Del, of San Antonio, Texas; and her daughter, Joann Hart, of San Diego, California.

A talented seamstress and accomplished pianist, Ruth found great joy in creating, music, and spending time with those she loved. She was always eager for new adventures and treasured every opportunity to be with family and friends.

Ruth spoke fluent Finnish and, together with Leonard, traveled to Finland to visit the homeland of her parents, who had immigrated to the United States. She was known for her quick wit, warm sense of humor, and her ability to make others smile. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for striking up conversations and making people feel welcome.

An animal lover throughout her life, Ruth cared for many beloved pets. She also devoted countless hours as a volunteer at the Billerica Council on Aging, where she enjoyed assisting visitors in the gift shop and became known for her friendly personality and special talent for sales. She was also a dedicated member of TOPS MA #103 in Chelmsford, attending meetings each Monday evening.

Ruth's kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, friend, and volunteer whose memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the many people whose lives she enriched.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
